I am a product of our Lutheran School system. I attended Hope in St. Ann, MO, Emmanuel in Catonsville, MD, Atonement in Florissant, MO, St. Mark in Sunnyvale, CA, Lutheran High School North in St. Louis, and Concordia in Seward, NE. I believe that our Lutheran Schools provide a quality, Christian education to hundreds of thousands of students around the country, as well as here in Centralia. My goal is to help Trinity continue to provide that quality education to all of the students that attend here.
During my career I have taught everything from second through eighth grade, in schools in Perryville, MO, Topeka, KS, Cheyenne, WY, Ft. Morgan, CO, and Albuquerque, NM, and I have been a principal since 1989. I also enjoy coaching, and have coached, or been an assistant coach, of soccer, both boys and girls basketball, flag football, girls softball, baseball, volleyball, track and field, and golf teams. I believe that schools should have a well-rounded, complete program that includes all of the core subjects along with religion, music, art, physical education, athletic teams, technology, and even a foreign language. One my goals at Trinity will be to maintain and expand the programs we are able to offer.
As I was growing up I did not plan on being a teacher. I either wanted to play major league baseball for the Cardinals, or be an engineer, like my dad. God knew better though. God created curveballs, which I couldn’t hit, and calculus, which I could only pass with great effort. Seeing that my first two career choices were probably not going to work out, I followed a high school friend to Concordia, Seward to study education. God had led me to where I was supposed to be, and to the career path I was supposed to follow. One of our goals at Trinity is to prepare students for high school and beyond, so that they are equipped to follow the path that God lays out for them.
I look forward to meeting everyone and getting to know Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Centralia and all of you better. Please feel free to stop by for a visit!
